The Renegades opened the season with a commanding victory over Kings Cross Steelers IV, in a game that showcased hard work that was put into preseason.

By half-time, the Renegades had surged to a 60-5 lead, with the match shifting to a friendly in the second half as per league rules. Despite the relaxed atmosphere after the break, the team continued to push, bringing the final score to an emphatic 86-12.
The Renegades' performance was a testament to their solid preparation, particularly in the backline, with slick handling and well-executed moves creating multiple try-scoring opportunities. The scrum also dominated, putting constant pressure on the opposition and securing clean ball for the backs.
Eight different players crossed the line for tries, showing the depth of talent across the team. A. Breadman made his mark by stepping up as kicker for the first half, before A. Hodgson took over kicking duties in the second half.
It was also a special day for three players who made their full-contact debuts, adding even more to the occasion.
The game was played in true rugby spirit, with both teams battling hard and showing mutual respect. Next up for the Renegades is a home fixture against Brighton & Hove Sea Serpents II – a match sure to be another exciting contest.
